Baseball tallies doubleheader sweep over MacMurray

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team swept a SLIAC doubleheader against one of last year's tournament participants in Greenville on Wednesday night.  Greenville rolled 11-0 in the first game and took a 5-2 win in game two.

Bryce Pearce threw a seven inning complete game shutout in the opener as he allowed just five hits.

Adam Lamb, Travis Ralls, Shane Olmsted, Sam Hodges, and Danny Strohm each recorded two hits.

Lamb and Chandler Dix each had three RBI.

Game two was controlled by Panther pitching as well as Lamb held MacMurray to only two runs through eight innings.  Klaiton Wolff picked up his fifth save.

The Panthers led 4-0 after two and scored their fifth run in the third.

Jesse Getz paced Greenville with a 3-for-4 outing at the plate.

The Panthers (19-12, 9-4 SLIAC) host Principia on Thursday night at Robert E. Smith Field.
