Baseball returns to third straight SLIAC championship matchup against Westminster

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team set a new program high for wins in a season, and they are going to the final game of the SLIAC baseball tournament.  The Panthers eliminated Webster 17-15 in game one before securing an 11-7 win over Westminster in the first of two championship games.

Jesse Getz was the offensive star in game one with two grand slams and nine RBI.  Travis Ralls hit a solo homer in the top of the ninth.

Reliever Austin Rexroad was the winner, and Klaiton Wolff gained his eighth save.

Game two went Greenville's way as they held a 9-3 lead after three innings.

Phillip Reedy was the winning pitcher as he pitched into the seventh inning.  He improved his record to 4-1.

Cole Becker and Wolff ended the game on the mound for Greenville.

Danny Strohm and Getz posted 3-for-4 efforts at the plate, and Strohm added three RBI.

The Panthers (29-15) face Westminster at 1 p.m. on Sunday for the SLIAC automatic bid to the NCAA national tournament.
