Baseball topped 13-2 by Rhodes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The baseball team completed their opening weekend trip to Memphis with a 13-2 seven inning loss at Rhodes.

The Panther bats were silent as Clarence Falls was the only GU hitter to reach base with a hit.  Falls also scored a run.  Falls tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third when he scored on a fielder's choice and an error.

Matthew Schroeder tallied a run in the sixth inning on an RBI groundout by Parker Panich.

The Greenville pitching permitted runs in all but the first inning.

Rhodes took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and took back the lead in the bottom of the third with two runs.

The Lynx scored three in the fourth, five in the fifth, and two in the sixth.

Austin Rexroad took the loss for Greenville, giving up five runs on nine hits in three innings.

The Panthers (1-2) host Lawrence in a doubleheader on Friday.
