Baseball drops make up game with MacMurray

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The baseball team played MacMurray in the final game of the two teams' season series, and the Panthers lost 10-2 to the Highlanders.

MacMurray scored in the first and third innings to lead 4-0 after three and a half innings.  Greenville got a run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI groundout from Andrew Torbeck.

In the top of the seventh, the Highlanders scored six and increased their lead to 10-1.  The Panthers posted a run in the bottom of the eighth with Ryan Taylor's RBI single.

Lucas Whitten started for Greenville on the mound and worked into the seventh inning.  He went 6.1 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits.  The loss in the game dropped his season record to 1-2.

Austin Rexroad worked 2.1 innings of relief, only permitting an unearned run and recording four strikeouts.

Taylor finished with three hits in four at bats, including a triple.

The Panthers (20-10, 12-3 SLIAC) travel to Webster for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20.
