GREENVILLE, Ill. -- If Saturday's game was any indication of the 2016 Panther football season, Greenville will display perseverance throughout the season. After falling behind 26-0 at halftime, the Panthers outscored Millikin 21-14 in the second half to give them momentum heading into their next contest.
The Panthers received two touchdowns from freshman Eric Kranh in the contest. Krahn scored touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The first was a 48 yard sprint down the sideline, and he added a 7 yard run with 1:21 remaining.
Millikin gained a 7-0 in the first quarter and expanded the advantage to 26-0 with three touchdowns before halftime.
Millikin pushed the lead to 40-0 with two third quarter touchdowns.
John Dudley put Greenville on the scoreboard with a 25 yard touchdown reception from George Harris with 4:01 left in the third quarter.
Jonny Pruiett was Greenville's leading rusher with 13 carries for 69 yards. Kranh had 64 yards on four attempts, and Hamid Camara produced 55 yards on eight carries.
Greenville piled up 300 yards of rushing offense.
Harris came off the bench to relieve an injured Jacob Tibbetts at quarterback and completed eight of 16 passes for 111 yards.
The Panther defense was led by Angel Manzano with six tackles, and he forced one fumble.
Lincoln Johnson had a quarterback sack that led to a forced fumble.
The Panthers (0-1) will travel to Minnesota-Morris for a game on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Noon.
