Football falls short against Minnesota - Morris

MORRIS, Minn. -- The football team suffered a 33-28 UMAC loss to Minnesota Morris on Saturday.

Minnesota - Morris took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but Corbin Quinonez hooked up with George Harris on a 23 yard touchdown pass to tie the game early in the second quarter.

Morris gained another touchdown, and Kasey Richardson returned a fumble 10 yards for a touchdown to knot up the game 14-14 at halftime.

Minnesota - Morris extended their lead to 16 with a safety and touchdown in the third quarter followed by a fumble return for a touchdown early in the fourth stanza.

Greenville received touchdowns from Derek Greifzu, a 55 yard pass from Harris, and Nicholas Morrow on a 17 yard run.

Morris closed the game with a field goal.

Greenville's Harris produced 171 passing yards and two touchdowns as he was 12-of-29.

Jonny Pruiett ran 14 times for 56 yards.

Morrow had a hand in 11 tackles, including one for a loss.

Colton Faure had a huge afternoon with eight tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, 3 1/2 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery.

The Panthers (0-2) host Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday at 1 p.m.
