Football falls 59-46 at MacMurray in shootout

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The football team set a season-high with 46 points, but their defense couldn't hold MacMurray back as Greenville lost 59-46 on Saturday.

Quarterback George Harris completed 25-of-38 passes for 402 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Derek Greifzu gained 105 rushing yards on 11 attempts and two touchdowns.  Greifzu also caught 10 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Greenville trailed 10-7 after one quarter and fell behind 37-21 at halftime.

The Panthers saw their third quarter deficit reach 52-28 before rallying in the fourth quarter.

Greenville's defensive efforts were led by Nicholas Morrow with 11 tackles.  Isaiah Coleman added 10 tackles, one force fumble, and a fumble recovery.

The Panthers (1-6, 1-5 UMAC) host Martin Luther on Saturday at 1 p.m.
