NEW ULM, Minn. -- The football team made the nine hour journey to Martin Luther and were handed a 34-20 setback by the Knights.

Greenville opened the scoring in the contest with a touchdown on its first possession.  Caleb Jackson capped a 64 yard, four and a half minute drive with a five yard TD run to put the Panthers up 6-0 as the two-point conversion attempt was stopped.

Martin Luther put themselves on top by a point as the second quarter started, but Greenville took a 12-7 lead with less than 90 seconds remaining in the first half.  Gregoire Franchomme caught a four yard touchdown pass from George Harris, but the extra point attempt failed.

Just one minute later, the Knights took the lead on a touchdown pass to take a 14-12 lead to halftime.

In the early minutes of the third quarter, Martin Luther posted a touchdown and added another TD to take a 27-12 advantage.

Greenville cut the deficit to one possession as Derek Greifzu connected with Harris on a 16 yard pass.  The two point conversion was good as Jonny Pruiett ran the ball into the end zone to make the score 27-20.

Unfortunately, the Knights were not done scoring and added one more touchdown for the 34-20 win.

Pruiett led the Panthers rushing game with 83 yards on 20 carries, and Caleb Jackson rushed 10 times for 72 yards.

Harris was 15-of-28 for 157 yards, including a long pass of 40 yards, and he threw one interception.

Tucker Tompkins caught Harris' 40 yard pass and piled up 72 receiving yards on four catches.

Greenville's defense was led by Colton Faure, whose two quarterback sacks set back the Knights 10 yards.

Linebacker Bryson Johnson produced nine tackles, and the trio of Justin Willis, Steven Oscar, and Anthony Esquivel all had seven tackles.

The Panthers (1-3, 1-2 UMAC) host undefeated MacMurray (4-0, 3-0 UMAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
