Josh Flannery has been on the Greenville University football coaching staff since 2015 and serves as offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and quarterbacks coach.

In his time at GU, he has coached every offensive skill position including multiple all-conference award winners.

Flannery is a proud Greenville graduate and played for the Panther football program from 2004-07 at the wide receiver position. He also earned his bachelor’s degree from Greenville in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.

Prior to returning to GU, Flannery coached five seasons at Malone University, an NCAA Division II program located in Canton, Ohio. In his first three seasons on staff, Flannery coached on the offensive side of the ball as passing game coordinator and mentored the receivers. In his last two seasons at Malone, he served as special teams coordinator and coached on the defensive side of the ball in the secondary. Off the field, Flannery was heavily involved in recruiting, the strength and conditioning program, film coordinating, academic success, and other athletic department responsibilities.

While at Malone, he earned a master’s degree in theological studies with an emphasis in sports ministry.

He and his wife Abby (also a 2008 Greenville College graduate) have been married since December 2008, and have two children, Isaac and Roman. They reside in Greenville.
