I have been fishing since grade school, and I’ve been fishing tournaments since freshman year of high school. During high school, I fished for Highland High School’s Fishing Team. I fished as a starter on the team my sophomore, junior, and senior year, and in those three years, we won the sectional twice and also won the State Championship.

During my undergraduate, I fished for McKendree University all four years. I had two 2ndplace finishes on the college circuits and qualified for six national championships. What I enjoyed most though was being able to travel the country and fish on so many diverse lakes and rivers. We had the chance to fish places like Chickamauga Lake, Pickwick Lake, Kentucky Lake, Barkley Lake, The Upper Mississippi on pools 4, 8, and 10, Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn, and many others. College fishing offered me a unique opportunity to better myself as a fisherman and make some great connections within the industry.

I still have many fond memories of fishing in the lake near my house, my brother and I riding our bikes over and spending many days throughout the summer trying to catch catfish, bass, bluegill, and crappie. Later on we would fish local tournaments on Tuesday nights out of a jon boat we fixed up.
