Men's basketball keeps pace in SLIAC with win over MacMurray

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team received a 28 point performance from Sonti Grady as they earned a 140-122 victory over MacMurray at home on Wednesday.

Greenville led 64-56 at halftime and increased their intensity in the second half to outscore MacMurray 76-66.

Johari Dix and Barry Nixon each posted 18 points as they were second in the scoring column.

Riley Simmons and Marvin Bateman led the second unit with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

The Panthers received 15 steals in the game and were paced by Swade Edwards, Dix, and Nixon with three apiece.

Dix passed out seven assists, and Josias Parker had six assists.

Grady and Justin Cross were at the top of the rebounding chart with five each.

Overall, Greenville shot 51 percent from the field (51-of-100), and they made 21-of-51 three pointers (41.2 percent).

The Panthers (7-5, 4-1 SLIAC) travel to Blackburn for a game on Saturday at 3 p.m.
