Men's basketball wins sixth straight SLIAC game

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team led from start to finish as they took a 133-121 win over Spalding at home on Saturday.

The two teams played a tight first half, and the Panthers led 63-57 at halftime.

In the second half, Greenville took control of the game, pushing the lead to 31 with a layup by Eric Williams with seven minutes to go in the contest.

Williams and Johari Dix provided a lethal combination for Greenville as the two men combined for 50 points.  Williams posted 26 points, and Dix had 24 points.  Dix tallied six assists in the game.

Rakim Murphy added 20 points as he rounded out the group of Panthers who scored 20 or more points.

Greenville had 29 steals in the game as they forced Spalding into committing 46 turnovers.  Josias Parker had seven of the 29 steals, and Barry Nixon provided five steals.

Kodi Badger was GU's top rebounder with 11.

The Panthers (9-4, 6-0 SLIAC) host Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
