Men's basketball falls to No. 3 North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team traveled north to play No. 3 North Central and suffered a 122-103 setback on Friday.

The Panthers kept the game close in the first half, taking only a five pont deficit to the locker room.  North Central led 47-42 after the first half, and they outscored Greenville 75-61 in the second half.

Greenville featured six players with double figure scoring efforts, led by Henry Johnson with 17 points.

Riley Simmons managed to provide 14 points, and leading scorer Sontiago Grady had 13 points.

Two Panthers, Rakim Murphy and Barry Nixon, collected 11 points, and Chris Jackson reached 10 points.

Greenville forced 35 turnovers and gained 21 steals.  Jackson led GU with five steals, and Johnson and Grady each totaled four steals.

The Panthers (1-2) continue their trip with a game at Carthage on Saturday at 5 p.m.
