Men's basketball drops game at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. - The men's basketball team led early but fell behind in the second half as they suffered a 133-126 setback at Carthage.

Greenville led 68-63 after the first half and held a 16 point advantage with 3:50 to go in the first half. Carthage narrowed the Panther lead heading into halftime and outpaced GU 70-58 in the second half.

Kameron Vinsel had Greenville's top scoring effort with 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including a mark of 7-of-9 behind the three-point line and a perfect 2-of-2 showing at the free throw line.

Sontiago Grady ended with 23 points. Chris Jackson and Barry Nixon each posted 15 points, and Rakim Murphy tallied 12 points.

The Panthers collected 15 steals and were led by Riley Simmons with six steals.

Dustin Bankowski passed out nine assists.

The Panthers (1-3) travel to Carroll University next Friday to play Wabash.
