Men's basketball held off by Westminster on road

FULTON, Mo. - The men's basketball team lost 131-126 at Westminster on Saturday to slip into a second place tie in the conference standings.

Henry Johnson scored a team-high 27 points to lead the Panthers.

Marvin Bateman provided 19 points, Sontiago Grady ended with 17 points, and Kameron Vinsel had 16 points.

The Panthers trailed 77-59 at halftime and had to battle back in the second half to make the score close.

A jumper by Johnson made the score 129-126 with 16 seconds to play, but Westminster hit both free throws after they were fouled to put the game away.

The Panthers (8-9, 7-3 SLIAC) go to Webster for a game on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
