Men's soccer defeats Principia in SLIAC action

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's soccer team captured their first conference win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Principia on Saturday night.  Greenville's goal scorers included Caleb Mulholland, Edgar Bueno, and Brent McCollum.

Greenville took control of the game from the outset as Mulholland's goal in the ninth minute gave them a 1-0 lead.  McCollum provided the assist.

The Panthers extended their lead to 2-0 in the 38th minute with Bueno's third goal of the season set up by Max Schimmelpfenning's assist.

Greenville tacked on an early goal in the second half when McCollum scored.  Gomez provided the assist.

Goalkeeper Nick Holland was just four seconds away from a shutout when Principia scored at the end of the contest.  Holland gave Greenville four saves.

The Panther (4-6-1, 1-1 SLIAC) travel to Millikin for a game on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
