Men's soccer rolls to win over Franklin

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's soccer team recorded a dominating 3-1 win over Franklin on Saturday.  Caleb Carpenter posted two goals for the Panthers.

Greenville struck early with Carpenter getting his first goal of the game in the 11th minute.  Adam Jones and Christian Gomez provided the assists.

Greenville held the one goal lead until the 62nd minute when Carpenter scored again.  David Yakim assisted.

The Panthers' Yakim tallied Greenville's final goal less than three minutes later as he was assisted by Jones.

Greenville came up with 12 shots in the match.  Franklin had 13 shots, but Nick Holland was up for the challenge with five saves in 75 minutest

Carpenter paced GU in shots with three.

The Panthers (3-3) travel to Illinois College for a match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
