Men's soccer clipped by Alma

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team battled Alma on Friday night, but they came up on the short end of a 2-0 shutout by the Scots.

Both teams had five shots on goal, but Alma managed to slip a shot past goalkeeper Nick Holland in the 22nd minute to take  a 1-0 advantage to halftime.

Alma added another goal in the early moments of the second half.

Overall, both teams had five shots on goal in the match.  Greenville's 12 shots in the contest were paced by three shots each from newcomers Jared McPeek and Ruben Martinez.

Holland came up with three saves.

The Panthers (0-1) will host Maranatha Baptist on Saturday at 1 p.m.
