Men's soccer ties Spalding on Saturday

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team tied Spalding 1-1 on Saturday afternoon. The teams netted the goals in the 74th minute.

After a scoreless first half, Spalding put the first goal on the board in the 74th minute. 

Greenville quickly countered the Golden Eagles with a goal of their own less than a minute later. Gabriel Sule, a junior forward, scored the goal. Andres Garcia and Edgar Barrientos were awarded with the assists. 

Neither team managed to score in the remaining sixteen minutes and left the score at 1-1. 

The Panthers outshot Spalding 13-6 with four shots on goal. 

Hiram Cruz had his fifth game start for Greenville and had one save. 

The Panthers (3-6-2, 0-1-2 SLIAC) will seek their first conference win at Principia on Tuesday.
