Men's tennis falls from unbeaten ranks, starts new streak

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The men's tennis team fell for the first time this season in their match against Rose-Hulman, but the team came back to win its match against Illinois Tech.

Greenville dropped the opening match 9-0, but Greenville had a 9-7 match in No. 3 doubles.  The team of Austin Burkhart and Gabriel Munoz lost 9-7.

In singles, No. 5 Justin Tilford went to a super tribeaker before dropping the 10-8 tiebreaker.  Daniel Pieplow hung in with a 7-5, 6-3 defeat.

The Panthers got back on track with a 5-4 win over Illinois Tech.

Greenville had to work from behind as only No. 3 Burkhart and Munor won 8-5 in the doubles flights.

The Panthers singles wins came from No. 3 Pieplow, No. 4 Zach Plocher, No. 5 Tilford, and No. 6. Burkhart.

The Panthers (13-1) go to Webster for a match on Wednesday.
