Men's tennis wraps up SLIAC play with sweep over Westminster

FULTON, Mo. - The men's tennis team was a 9-0 victor in their final SLIAC match at Westminster on Monday.

Greenville won two doubles matches outright and one by default to open the match.

The No. 1 doubles team of Tyler Blume and Luke Motsinger was an 8-1 winner, and the No. 2 team of Zach Merrill and Thibaut Tignee picked up an 8-0 win. Westminster gave the No. 3 doubles match to Greenville when they did not fill a full team.

In singles, four matches were completed, and the No. 5 and No. 6 matches were handed to GU by default.

In No. 1 singles, Blume gained a 6-2, 6-3 win, and No. 2 Motsinger was a 6-1, 6-0 winner.

No. 3 Mathew Rodriguez cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph, and No. 4 Merrill collected a 6-0, 6-1 win.

The Panthers (8-6, 2-1 SLIAC) host Anderson on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in their final tuneup prior to the SLIAC tournament scheduled for Saturday.
