Men's tennis drops NCAA tournament match to George Fox

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's tennis team completed their season with a second straight appearance at the NCAA Division III national tournament. GU fell in Thursday's appearance to George Fox in a 5-0 decision.

The doubles round ended with GFU with wins in all three matches.

The No. 1 team of Andres Sanchez and Rafael Rodriguez fell in an 8-4 decision.

The No. 2 duo of Clark Kent and Luke Motsinger along with the No. 3 combination of Jordi Matuhen and Thibaut Tignee dropped their matches 8-2.

In singles, George Fox clinched the match with wins in No. 3 and No. 6. No. 3 Matuhen lost 6-2, 6-1, and No. 6 Tignee dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match.

Greenville's No. 2 Rodriguez battled in an unfinished match and trailed 7-5 when GFU recorded their fifth win.

The Panthers concluded their season with an overall record of 22-8, their second straight conference championship, and first UMAC title.
