Men's track and field ranks third at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The men's track and field team returned to action at Illinois College on Saturday, and they placed third of the 13 teams at the event.  The Panthers had the champions in three events as they competed for the first time since December.

Entrants winning their events included Jeremiah Davis, 60 meter dash; Mitchell Hooten, shot put; and the 4000 meter distance medley relay.

Davis posted a time of 7.03 seconds in winning the 60 meter race by one hundredth of a second.

Hooten's throw of 14.58 meters (47 feet, 10 inches) was better than the second place performer by one foot.

The distance medley relay team of Nathan Allyn, Jackson Pierce, Nathan Potts, and John Mangold defeated Lindenwood Belleville's team by over five seconds with a time of 10:45.

The Panthers travel to Principia for the Principia Relays on Friday and Saturday.
