JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The men's track and field team finished as the first place team at Saturday's Jim Green Invitational at Illinois College. The Panthers got two first place performances as they accrued 93.5 points to top Lindenwood by 8.5 points.
Jarrid Williams leapt to a distance of 13.59 meters (44 feet, 7 inches) in his final attempt of the triple jump to capture the championship.
Greenville's entrants posted five second place finshes.
John Mangold completed the one-mile run in 4:29.10 as he nipped the third place performer from Principia.
The 4x400 meter relay team was second with a mark of 3:28.69.
Williams made his mark in the long jump as his distance of 6.84 meters (22-5.25) was good for second.
Throwers Mitchell Hooten and Chris Crawford gave the Panthers second place marks in the shot put and weight throw, respectively.
Hooten reached a distance of 14.33 meters (47-0.25), and Crawford posted a throw of 15.02 meters (49-3.5).
The Panthers return to action at Monmouth on Saturday.
