Men's track and field captures third at Washington-St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The men's track and field team traveled to the Washington-St. Louis mini meet and came back with a third place finish among the teams participating. Andrew Sharp and Jarrid Williams brought wins in their events.

Andrew Sharp won the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.75 in his first action of the spring season.  Jarrid Williams picked up a victory in the triple jump with a leap of 14.17 meters.

Dusty Atteberry was the runner up in the hammer with a throw of 46.37 meters, and Phil Wilsman threw the javelin 51.64 meters for second place.

Greenville had the third place finisher in the hammer with Ryan Burgess' mark of 46.37 meters.

Mitchell Hooten tallied a pair of third place honors in the shot put (13.88 meters) and discus throw (43.51 meters).

The men's 4x100 meter relay gave Greenville a third place time of 42.25 seconds.  Members of the relay included Jeremiah Davis, Anthony Cable, Jarrid Williams, and Jonah Peoples.

Greenville's 4x400 meter relay clocked a time of 3:22.34 in their third place finish.  Jackson Pierce, Sharp, Nathan Potts, and Treyvon Manning comprised the relay team.

Williams was also third in the long jump with a distance of 6.54 meters.

The men return to action on Friday and Saturday at Washington-St. Louis.
