Men's track and field gains fourth at Washington-St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A smaller than usual men's track and field team went to the Washington University meet where they were fourth of eight teams and half a point behind third place.

Ben Perry's hammer throw went 147 feet, nine inches to place third.

Mitchell Hooten was fourth in the discus (135-2) and fifth in the in shot put 43-8.5

Greg Mitchell was second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.19 meters.

The Panthers went 1-2 in the men's 1500 with times of 4:00 and 4:03. Great runs by both as Mangold led from the start. Potts finished well and ran a life-time best.

Potts came back and was 2nd in 800 in 1:58.77.

Freshman Alex fink had great run in 400 -50.50 he also ran a PR of 23.11

The Panthers best event was the 3000 meter run. Dylan Goodyear finished in nine minutes, Noah Dir ran 9:39, and Johnathan Teoli ran 10:00 for a personal best mark.

The Panthers return to Washington University next Friday and Saturday.
