Men's track and field places third at Washington-St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The men's track and field team was third of 14 teams at Washington-St. Louis on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers had the event champion in the 800 meter run and the runner up in the triple jump and 100 meter dash.

Nathan Potts was the winner in the 800 with a time of 1:53.98. It was his lifetime best by a approximately 1.5 seconds.

Greg Mitchell reached a distance of 13.40 meters in the triple jump, and Bobby Neal recorded a 11.24 second race in the 100 meter dash.

Seven Panther entries had the fourth place marks. These included
David Martin, javelin throw, 42.47 meters
Mitchell Hooten, hammer throw, 38.66 meters
Hooten, shot put, 13.22 meters
Mitchell, high jump, 1.87 meters
Alex Fink, 400 meter dash, 49.95 seconds
Andrew Sharp, 800 meter run, 1:55.27
4x400 meter relay, 3:24.36.

The Panthers compete at Millikin next Saturday.
