Men's track and field posts 100 points in NCCAA national runner up effort

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The men's track and field team won the second place trophy at the NCCAA national championships on Friday at Grace College. The Panthers score of 100 points featured five national championships.

John Mangold and Andrew Sharp were each a part of two national championship efforts.

Mangold won the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:04.05, and Andrew Sharp took the championship in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.83.

Together Mangold and Sharp joined Nathan Potts and Jaylen Shelton for the win in the 4x800 meter relay. The unit posted a time of 7:36.03.

Greg Mitchell was the national champion in the high jump with a height of 2.07 meters, and David Martin produced 6059 points to take the top spot in the decathlon.

Select members of the team will compete next week at North Central in NCAA qualifying meets.
