Men's volleyball set back by Fontbonne

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's volleyball team suffered a four set loss on Wednesday night as they won the first set and had opportunities to go up by a two set advantage.  The Panthers fell 22-25, 32-30, 25-23, 25-23 as each set was tightly contested.

Greenville actually outhit Fontbonne by a .215 to .197 margin, but Greenville was hurt by Fontbonne's 12 blocks.

Manual Benitez starred for Greenville with a season-high 25 kills and hitting percentage of greater than .400.

Tanner Smith set up Greenville's attack with 49 assists.

Both Benitez and Smith had three service aces.

Andrew Johnson provided 15 digs for Greenville as he constantly twarted off Fontbonne attacks.

Isaiah Canales picked up two solo blocks and three block assists.

The Panthers (2-4, 0-3 MCVL) will host Adrian on Friday at 7 p.m.
