Men's cross country third at Washington University early bird meet

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The men's cross country team traveled to St. Louis to participate in the Washington University Early Bird meet.  The men came back with a third place showing of seven teams within their division.

The Panthers were led by Junior Nathan Potts who clocked a time of 20:24 as he was 27th.  Potts collected 16 points for Greenville's team score.

Sophomore John Mangold was second to cross the finish line for Greenville as he finished 31st with a time of 20:35.  Mangold gained 17 points.

Jacob Burrell and Nathan Allyn finished back to back with times of 20:40 and 20:42, respectively. Burrell gained 19 points and Allen had 20.

Freshman Dylan Goodyear was Greenville's number five runner as he was 40th in 20:58. Goodyear added 23 points to Greenville's total.

Overall Greenville accumulated 95 points with an average finish of 20:41.

The Panthers will travel to Olivet Nazarene on Friday, Sept. 9 to participate at 5 p.m.
