ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The men's cross country team competed against Washington-St. Louis in their first race of the season and were defeated 20-35 in dual meet action.
John Mangold was Greenville's top runner, completing the 5.83 kilometer race in 19:20. He was second overall with a pace eight seconds behind the winner.
Nathan Potts finished six with a time of 19:54.
Dylan Goodyear, James Suchy, and Collin Kessinger comprised the rest of Greenville's score as they placed eighth through tenth. Goodyear produced a time of 20:02, and Suchy and Kessinger posted identical times of 20:27.
The Panthers compete at Olivet Nazarene on Friday, Sept. 8.
