Softball sweeps doubleheader from Principia

ELSAH, Ill. -- The softball team took both ends of the doubleheader at Principia on Saturday as they won 18-1 and 13-4.

Greenville scored in every inning of the first game as they piled up 18 runs.

Kate Jolliff, Becca Oldham, and Cayla Speaks all had three hits for Greenville.

Tiffany Samsoe, Oldham, and Speaks posted four RBI's.

Brianna Anderson was the starting pitcher and went three scoreless innings before yielding the circle to Speaks for the final two innings.

Game two went all seven innings despite the nine-run margin of victory.

Kearsta Ornellas and Josie Koontz totaled three hits each.

Jolliff, Amanda Atteberry, and Elizabeth Hawkins had a pair of hits.

Oldham pitched a complete game, going all seven innings for the win.  She allowed four runs, two earned, on eight hits, and struck out four.

The Lady Panthers (19-12) continue their season on Monday at Eureka.
