Kate Jolliff Rosado announced as NFCA NCAA Division III All-Region; Wieland third team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The NFCA announced its members of the 2018 NFCA Division III All-Region softball teams. Kate Rosado was a selection for the Midwest region first team.

Rosado finished her 2018 season with a batting average of .446 with 54 hits in 121 at bats. She homered nine times and drove in 45 runs while stealing 16 bases. She had a slugging percentage of .818.

Earlier in May, she was announced as the SLIAC Player of the Year, becoming just the second player in program history to receive the honor.

She finished conference play hitting .517 with 6 home runs and 28 runs batted in; leading all conference players in the triple crown categories.

She scored 21 times in 18 conference games and totaled 31 hits and 57 total bases while also leading the conference in on-base percentage (.561) and slugging percentage (.950).

She also had multiple hits in 12 of her 18 conference games this season.

Jordyn Wieland was selected to the third team.

She produced 42 hits in 125 at bats for a batting average of .336 and stole 25 bases.  Wieland was also a SLIAC all-conference second team selection.

All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions. First team All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced the evening of May 23 online at NFCA.org and in person at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Oklahoma City.
