Women's basketball falls to Webster in SLIAC contest

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. -- The women's basketball team held a third quarter lead before Webster mounted a furious rally to defeat Greenville 80-69 on Wednesday night.

Webster held one-point advantages after the first quarter and at halftime, but Greenville took the lead during the third quarter.  Webster outscored Greenville 26-13 in the third quarter before the Lady Panthers closed the deficit by three with a 24-21 fourth quarter.

Taylor Paulin was Greenville's leading scorer with 17 points and also led the team with eight rebounds and three steals.

Laura Goodnight gave Greenville 15 points, and Wesley Woodard added 13 points.

The Lady Panthers (3-2, 0-1 SLIAC) host Westminster on Saturday at 1 p.m.
