HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- The women's basketball team played on New Year's Eve and lost 88-45 at Huntington on Saturday. Maria Reinhard was the team's high scorer in the contest with 12 points.
The Lady Panthers had trouble from the opening quarter as they faced a 24-8 deficit at the end of the first period that was increased to 46-20 by halftime.
The third quarter wasn't much better as Huntington added 13 points to their lead before Greenville played a fourth quarter in which they were only outscored by four.
Reinhard was the leading scorer for the first time this season as she hit 5-of-7 shots and two free throws.
Kelly Lenz collected six rebounds, and Taylor Paulin had a game-high four steals.
The Lady Panthers committed 31 turnovers in the game and were outshot by a 33.3 percent to 52.5 percent margin.
Greenville (8-4) faces Spalding on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Greenville.
