Women's basketball tops Spalding

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The women's basketball team returned to action on Thursday night and gained a 77-57 win over Spalding.

Greenville and Spalding were knotted 15-15 after the first quarter, and Spalding took a one point 36-35 advantage to halftime.

The Lady Panthers took the lead in the third quarter and used a dominating 23-4 fourth period to coast to the final buzzer.

Greenville's offensive tandom of Laura Goodnight and Wesley Woodard produced 43 of Greenville's 77 points.  Goodnight led the way with 24, and Woodard followed with 19.  Woodard added seven rebounds.

Jantzen Michael sparked Greenville off the bench with 10 points.

The Lady Panthers (9-4, 4-1 SLIAC) travel to Iowa Wesleyan for a Saturday contest.
