Women's basketball captures second win over Westminster

FULTON, Mo. -- The women's basketball team gained a 68-53 win against Westminster on Wednesday night in the second regular season match up between the teams this year.  Taylor Paulin dropped in a season-high 25 points and added five steals to help the the Lady Panthers.

The game was never in jeopardy as Greenville held a 16-8 lead after the first quarter and expanded the advantage to 38-19 by halftime.

The Blue Jays kept up in the second half, but Greenville's first half was more than enough to allow the Lady Panthers to cruise to the win.

Laura Goodnight, Wesley Woodard, and Meredith Crosier all provided GC with 10 points.

Claire Schmitt posted 10 assists, Goodnight chipped in five blocked shots, and Kelly Lenz was the top rebounder with nine.

The Lady Panthers (12-6, 7-3 SLIAC) host MacMurray on Saturday at 1 p.m.  The team is currently tied for second place in the SLIAC and is a comfortable two games in front of the third seed tournament position.
