Women's basketball cruises to easy victory at Blackburn

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team gained a 91-45 win over Blackburn on Saturday as they moved nine games over .500.  Laura Goodnight and Naomi Johnson were Greenville's leading scorers as they each came off the bench to post 16 point performances.

The Panthers jumped out to a 24-13 lead after the first quarter and held a 53-27 advantage at halftime.

A 22-4 third quarter put them on top 75-31, and they narrowly outscored Blackburn 16-14 in the final quarter.

Maria Reinhard and Morgan St. James joined Goodnight and Johnson with double-figure scoring efforts with 11 points each.

Kelly Lenz led all players with 10 rebounds and four assists.

The Panthers (11-2, 6-0 SLIAC) travel to Wiliam Woods on Tuesday for a game at 6 p.m.
