Women's basketball winning streak snapped by WIlliam Woods

FULTON, Mo. -- The women's basketball team faced a stiff challenge in William Woods on Tuesday night and were defeated 76-58 on the road.

The Panthers fell behind 26-21 after the first quarter, but they rallied to tie the score at 36-all heading to halftime.

The score was tight in the third period, but William Woods hit a late three-pointer to grab a 55-50 lead after three quarters.  WWU was relentless in the final stanza, outscoring Greenville 21-8 as the Panthers went over three minutes without scoring.

Wesley Woodard posted 15 points to lead GU in scoring.  Maria Reinhard chipped in 13 points.

Laura Goodnight managed to come up with a game-high 13 rebounds in collecting over one-third of Greenville's caroms.

The Panthers were victimized by a shooting percentage of 37.5 percent and hit shots at a 14.2 percent clip behind the three-point line.

The Panthers (11-3) host Spalding on Saturday at 1 p.m.
