Women's basketball hosts Trinity Christian for NCCAA North Central title

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team saw their NCAA Division III tournament aspirations end last Friday, but they are still in the running for the automatic berth in the NCCAA national tournament.  On Saturday, Greenville will host Trinity Christian who was an 88-87 winner over Judson in Wednesday night's NCCAA North Central Regional playoff game in Elgin.

Tip off for the regional championship is at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.

Greenville is led by the offense of Wesley Woodard who has scored nearly 14 points per game.  Her teammates Maria Reinhard and Laura Goodnight average over 11 points per game.

If the Panthers win, they will go back to Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind., for the NCCAA national championships that begin on Wednesday, March 14.

The Panthers are the defending NCCAA national champions after defeating Emmanuel in last year's title tilt.
