JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team recorded a 92-61 victory over St. Mary-of-the-Woods in their first game at the MacMurray tournament on Friday night.  Wesley Woodard recorded a career high 25 points as she surpassed her previous high of 24 points reached twice in the 2017-18 season.

The Panthers jumped ahead 30-20 after one quarter and took a 48-30 lead to halftime.

In the third quarter, Greenville added 31 points to take a 79-43 advantage into the fourth quarter.  Greenville's reserves managed to record nearly half of GU's 13 points in the fourth quarter as St. Mary-of-the-Woods outdistanced Greenville 18-13 in the final period.

Greenville's 92-point output fell just short of their season-high total of 93 against Millikin in the first game of the season, but it was the highest number of points scored without the benefit of overtime that they had in the Millikin win.

The Panthers were a force on the glass with a season high 71 rebounds, including 24 offensive boards.  Emily Brandland performed well, collecting 16 of Greenvile's 71 caroms, and Ellaina Davis totaled 11 rebounds.

Jantzen Michael displayed her offensive and defensive prowess with 15 points and three steals.  Reserves Haven Robertson and Morgan St. James posted 11 points.

The Panthers (5-2) face Robert Morris Springfield at 2 p.m. on Saturday in their final game of the tournament.
