Women's basketball keeps perfect SLIAC record with win at MacMurray

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team made a fifth and final trip of the season to Jacksonville and came away 78-32 winners against MacMurray.

After playing four non-conference tournament games this season in Jacksonville, the Panthers continued to play well on the road and outscored MacMurray in every quarter.  The Panthers limited MacMurray to 14 points in the opening quarter and only allowed quarterly point totals of nine, five, and four in the ensuing periods.  The Panthers had a 41-23 lead at halftime.

Greenville fell behind 7-0 to start the game, but they went on a 21- 7 run over the last seven minutes to take control of the game.  GU's lead reached 46 points in the fourth quarter.

Morgan St. James led Greenville with 14 points and three blocked shots as she came off the bench.

Emily Brandland had an 11 point game and led the way for Greenville with eight rebounds.

Wesley Woodard totaled 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Panthers (8-2, 3-0 SLIAC) host William Woods on Saturday, Dec. 29, in Greenville at 2 p.m.
