Women's basketball flies past Iowa Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team dominated Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday night from the opening tip and gained a 72-30 win.

The Panthers scored 21 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second quarter to open up a halftime lead of 41-11.

The third quarter saw both teams score 14 points before Greenville ended with a 17-5 run in the fourth quarter.

Wesley Woodard filled the stats sheet with 19 points, seven rebounds, and four steals in 25 minutes of action.

Jantzen Michael added eight points and the team high with four assists, and four steals.

Brittany Lopez, Morgan St. James, and Emily Brandland also chipped in eight points.

The Panthers (11-3, 6-0 SLIAC) stand alone in first place in the conference standings as they travel to Westminster for a game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
