Women's basketball celebrates Wesley Woodard's 1000th point in 84-27 win

GREENVILLE, Ill. - A historic evening for senior forward Wesley Woodard served as the backdrop for the women's basketball team's 84-27 victory over Principia.  With her third point of the game in the first quarter, Woodard reached the 1,000 point mark and eventually ended as Greenville's top scorer with 13 points in the game.

Greenville never allowed more than eight points in a quarter and outdistanced Principia by 12 points or more in every quarter of the game.

The Panthers held a 20-6 lead after the first period and a 42-14 margin at halftime.

In the third quarter, Greenville bettered Principia by 12 points, opening a 61-21 lead.  The Panthers best quarter was saved for the fourth when they posted 23 points to just six from Principia.

Greenville dominated their competition in all facets of the game, outrebounding them 47-22 and forcing 27 turnovers.

Morgan St. James finished with an impressive line with 10 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two blocked shots.

Jantzen Michael had a 12 point outing.

The Panthers (15-3) host MacMurray on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in H.J. Long Gymnasium.
