Women's soccer controls 8-1 win over MacMurray

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's soccer team's high-octane offense was on display on Saturday in Greenville as they defeated MacMurray 8-1.

Kate Arthur was Greenville's offensive star with two goals and four assists in the match.

Dani Pearce recorded a hat trick with three goals.

Greenville got on the scoreboard in the third minute when Jade Taylor gained the first of her two goals.

Less than one minute later Pearce added a goal and came back in the ninth minute with another.

Taylor made the score 4-0 at halftime with a goal in the 12th minute.

The second half went Greenville's way with a 4-1 margin.

Arthur gave the Panthers two second half goals, Pearce completed the hat trick, and Kaylie Weideman added a late tally.

MacMurray broke up Marjory Coates' shutout in the 86th minute.

Coates collected one save.

The Panthers (7-4, 1-0 SLIAC) go to Westminster for a match on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
