Women's soccer senior day results in 2-0 win

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's soccer team gained a critical SLIAC win on Saturday as they moved one match closer to the SLIAC tournament and a hosting seed in the conference tournament.  Before their match began, they honored seniors Hope Brakenhoff, Corrinne Petrunich, Christina Bowman, Traci Roa, Tymber Gabbert, and manager Tiffany Strickler and later shut out Spalding 2-0.

The Panthers received unassisted goals from Dani Pearce and Tymber Gabbert in the win.

Greenville outshot Spalding by a margin of 11-3 and only allowed one shot on goal.  Goalkeeper Hope Brakenhoff returned to the net and collected a save and the shut out.

Pearce had four shots for GU, followed by Jade Taylor with three shots.

The Panthers (12-5, 6-1 SLIAC) find themselves in second place in the SLIAC standings wiht a critical match up against Webster coming on Tuesday.
