Women's soccer wins first SLIAC match

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team received 45 shots in their match as they handled Iowa Wesleyan 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Greenville scored six first half goals in the win.

Dani Pearce had a hat trick for GU on just four shots.

Kate Arthur provided two goals and two assists, and Breanna Thomas ended with a goal and two assists.

The remaining goals were scored by Maddie Saffel, Kat Stroot, and Ellie Cummins.

Goalkeepers Marjory Coates and Reaghan Lesh were relatively untested as they only faced four shots.  Coates had two of the three saves.

The Panthers (8-3, 1-0 SLIAC) will host Blackburn on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
