GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Spalding on Thursday night at Francis Field.
Greenville's first goal came in the 17th minute from the foot of Jen De Leon De Leon who converted a penalty kick.
In the second half, Kiera Coleman headed a corner kick from Emma Cadwell past Spalding's goalkeeper, and Samantha De La Cruz scored in the 61st minute with an assist from Coleman.
Despite the final score of 3-0, Spalding actually outshot Greenville by a 13-9 margin. Spalding also had six shots on frame, all of which Greenville goalkeeper Grace Gehner stopped for her first shutout. One of Gehner's most outstanding saves came on a penalty kick.
Coleman provided significant offensive production for GU with three points in the match. Coleman also had a team-high three shots, including two shots on goal.
The Panthers (1-3, 1-0 SLIAC) head to Westminster to face the Blue Jays on Saturday.
