Women's soccer takes draw against Rhodes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The women's soccer team tied Rhodes on Saturday afternoon, bringing home a 1-1 draw.

Rhodes outshot Greenville 7-2 in the first half, yet both teams had no goals.

After a scoreless first half, the game picked up in the second 45 minutes. In the 51st minute, Ashlie Johnston Cabral had an unassisted goal. Cabral’s goal gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

The Lynx responded quickly with a goal in the 58th minute from Grace Culver. Rhodes tied the game 1-1 with this goal.

Greenville tried getting the lead back with two more shots in the 68th and 69th minutes. However, they couldn’t tack on another one, ending the game with a draw.

The Panthers had Addison Miller as goalkeeper for the entire game, where she received her second tie of the season.

The Panthers (0-2-2) will host Stephens on Friday night at 6 p.m. in Greenville at Francis Field.
