The women's soccer program kicked off conference play with a 1-1 tie against Webster on Saturday and then demolished Eureka 6-0 on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened:
Game 1 vs. Webster. - 10/5/24
For the entire first half, the Panthers and Gorloks battled against each other but neither were able to put a goal on the board.
Vanessa Ramirez, Emma Cadwell, and Idaly Valenzuela all attempted shots in the first half, but none landed.
In the second half, Webster scored on a penalty kick after Addison Miller was yellow-carded.
The Panthers tried fighting back with a few shots from Angie Russo and Valenzuela, both missing the target.
In the 85th minute, Ashlie Johnston Cabral sent one into the back of the net with an assist from Ramirez, tying it up 1-1.
Two minutes later, Russo tried putting GU on top with another shot, but she missed high unfortunately.
Miller protected the net with three saves.
Game 2 vs. Eureka - 10/9/24
The game against Eureka looked much different. The Panthers outshot the Red Devils 42-0 and collected six goals.
Cabral led GU with three goals, two in the first half and one in the second.
Allyson Schulz, Katelyn Christensen, and Valenzuela all scored as well. Schulz collected two assists, while Ramirez and Valenzuela each had one.
Miller and Madison Ashford split time in goal for GU.
